Tens of thousands of Burning Man revelers, or "burners," continued the long, slow slog out of the northern Nevada desert Tuesday morning after getting stranded by flooding that created a muddy mess.Traffic began moving again Monday afternoon after organizers decided the mud had sufficiently dried. Some drivers estimated the backups lasted five hours or more. The festival was closed to traffic after more than a half-inch of rain drenched the desert on Friday, causing flooding and deep, paralyzing mud. This photo, provided by Maxar Technologies, shows an overview of traffic leaving the Burning Man festival on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, in the Black Rock Desert north of Reno, Nevada. Partygoers stranded for days at the counterculture festival by a late summer storm were allowed to start leaving Monday afternoon after muddy roads dried up enough for them to begin their exodus from the northern Nevada desert. One of her aunt’s most delightful desserts was a hybrid confection that blended the textures and flavors of shortcake, biscuit and cake, filled with fruit and topped with whipped cream.“Here, I’ve invoked the spirit of my Aunt Rene’s fruit-filled shortcake with a basic cream biscuit folded over roasted peaches flavored with honey and a little bit of cardamom,” Council writes. “This is one of the simplest ways to make biscuits from scratch; you ...Recipe: Roasted Delicata squash with harissa yogurt and pistachios

There’s a tendency to measure Brock Purdy against those who came before him on the most quarterback-centric franchise in the NFL.I’ve been around long enough to see Joe Montana and Steve Young in practice and in games, quarterbacks who by the time I was around played for 49ers teams with elite rosters and coaches en route to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But the quarterback Purdy most reminds me of isn’t going to the Hall of Fame, although he did win a Most Valuable Player award and helped take a moribund franchise out of the shadows and into the limelight. He did it with a hard-nosed attitude, a ton of completions, minimal turnovers and the ability to be a creative point guard capable of enhancing the skills of those around him.Rich Gannon was sold on Brock Purdy immediately. He was watching when Purdy came off the bench after Jimmy Garoppolo broke his foot and delivered a 33-17 win over the Miami Dolphins.“Honestly, I was just blown away,” Gannon said...My AP ballot: Georgia is No. 1 (naturally) followed by FSU and Michigan
